History of Associational Building
On October 28, 1948, South Canadian
Baptist Association came into existence.
What was orginally Canadian Baptist Association
and ended up splitting into North Canadian
and South Canadian Baptist Associations
was underway. The first Director of Missions
was Coy Kirksey and there was no Ministry
Assistant.
27 churches made up South Canadian Baptist
Association and the first Annual Meeting was
held September 23, 1949 at First Baptist
Church of Holdenville. During this time
Annual Celebrations took a total of 2 days!!!
Coy Kirksey would continue serving as Director
of Missions until 1959, when N.B Moon, Guy Ward,
L.M. Norwood J.W. Wade, Lin Jones and to this
date Tim Green would serve as Directors of
Missions. To date, these men have traveled
nearly 1 million ministry miles!
Through the years, several ministries have
come out of South Canadian Baptist Association
and God continues to use the churches
involved in its Association to build the kingdom!
Our prayer is that South Canadian Baptist
Association of Churches continues to grow
for God's glory!
